Ban Child Soldiers by Richard Swanson

Attention President Obama:

How would you like to be young and trained to kill? Wouldn’t like it would you? Well then put it in consideration that there are child soldiers in Africa and all over the world. They are not only being trained to shoot but burn down huts and pound new born babies to death. Young boys are being brainwashed, abducted, and trained to kill.

Young boys are either abducted by the army’s “agents” or sold by their parents. They are being brainwashed to the point where they have no hesitation when they go to shoot the enemy. The armies think that the boys are the perfect weapons because the enemies might have a hesitation towards shooting a child

Young boys are also being trained to kill with no hesitation. For example they will burn down huts when they are told to and they will pound new born babies to death. A thirteen year old was standing guard with a machete in his hand and said I will cut them. This proves that they are being trained to kill because the young boys have no hesitation burning down huts or pounding newborn babies to death.

Finally, girls are being abducted. They are being abducted to be used for cooks and messengers and “other stuff”. The big deal is that the people are not only just kidnapping boys but girls too! The bad guys need to be stopped so they do not endanger the life of other children!

 Some may say that child soldiers are a win-win because they have no cost and they can do the dirty work; however, children are costly. It not only can cost them their lives, but it can cost their parents if the children get abducted. Besides the fact, who gave these “kid-snatchers” the right to judge the moral value of life?!? No one. So I demand you put an end to these wrong doings. The bottom line is that child soldiers should be banned. You guys are the only people who can stop this insanity. Will you do it for the kids or let their lives be wasted? You can save the lives of many children: so do it!

With children being abducted, brainwashed, and trained to kill; there really is no point to living life. It’s not like they get to be free after a certain amount of time. Child soldiers should be banned. How would you like it, President Obama, if YOUR daughters were abducted then handed an AK-47 to kill people with? The children are forced to burn down huts and pound new born babies to death! How would you like to be in World War III knowing that your enemies are children? Grant these children the protection you would give your own daughters. I strongly urge you to put an end to this wicked and unjust practice, by protecting all children.
